Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence®

Our Center along with Dr. Jaime Ponce and Dr. Steven Paynter are designated Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence^® Providers.

This designation is given only to centers that perform weight loss surgery and have a commitment to excellence in patient care. A committee of nationally recognized and experienced bariatric surgeons reviews specific information after a site visit, and only will approve centers that have: continuous staff education, adequate high volume of cases, work with an institution and participate in the decision-making process, have full range of consultative services, full line of bariatric equipment and furniture, appropriate radiology equipment, spend significant portion of practice in bariatric surgery, utilize clinical pathways, have physician extenders and staff with experience, offer supervised support groups, and document long-term patient follow-up.
